Biography

Dr. Bapurao M. Bandgar is a seasoned academician with over 26 years of experience in teaching, research, and institutional leadership. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Karpagam University and an MCA from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the School of Actuarial Science, Sri Balaji University, Pune, he has previously held various senior academic positions across multiple other institutions, including Dean of the School of Computer Applications.

His teaching portfolio spans a wide range of subjects in B.Sc., BCA, MCA, engineering, and management disciplines. A committed researcher, Dr. Bandgar has published over 17 research papers, including several in Scopus-indexed journals, and has guided postgraduate students and guiding research students at SBUP. He has actively contributed to funded research, notably a project with the High Energy Material Research Laboratory (HEMRL) and technology and received awards for his scholarly work.

His research interests include Data Mining, Opinion Mining, Big Data Analytics, and Rheology. He is passionate about motivating faculty and students to strive for academic and research excellence, fostering a culture of continuous learning and impactful scholarship. Dr. Bandgar has played significant roles in academic governance, including memberships in Boards of Studies at Sri Balaji University and Other College. He has participated in College-level quality initiatives such as NIRF, AICTE, NBA, and FRA processes. His professional affiliations include IEEE, ACM, CSI, IAENG, and ISTE. An accomplished speaker and editor, he regularly delivers guest lectures and contributes to academic publishing and institutional magazines, exemplifying his commitment to educational excellence and academic leadership.
