The journey toward technological and cultural exchange with Japan commenced with the visit of Ms. Sayuri Matsuno to Sri Balaji University, Pune, on August 18, 2023 . This visit aimed to foster stronger academic ties between Sri Balaji University and Kyoto Seika University, with the invaluable support of Biju Sir, paving the way for new avenues of collaboration and exploration.
Inspired by this initiative, the author developed a keen interest in Japanese culture and language. Out of over 450 applicants, the author was among the 60 candidates shortlisted for an intensive Japanese language training program. This enriching experience was further enhanced by interactive sessions with seven Japanese students who stayed at the university for 45 days, making the learning process both immersive and engaging.
Following a rigorous examination, 20 students were selected for an online Japanese course. Through further assessments, seven distinguished individuals earned the prestigious opportunity to visit Kyoto Seika University in December 2024 under the Sakura Science Program. This initiative serves as a testament to the growing academic partnership and cross-cultural learning between the two esteemed institutions.
